I have had a couple of pairs of Superliner trucks go "south",and have a pair of 6 wheel trucks from Walters handy if 1 of my HW cars has a "problem". 1 of my "El Cap" cars just got a truck swap after a "wreck" at a show due to the modules getting shaken and a short thru the truck streached out a screw hole In the case of the Superliner swap outs, both had the wrong trucks installed at the factory, and failed during a show run! (dropped wheelsets, both cases )

Has anyone heard any updates on Walthers second run of Proto Amfleets?
The models (Phase III and VI, Amfleet I and II) that were to be re-released for Fall 2020, now states either "Retired" or "Out of Stock, No Info From Vendor.

Best route is to email them. From my limited observation Walthers has been finicky for the past few years regarding passenger equipment. When it comes to Santa Fe and Union Pacific, there doesn't seem to be an issue. Hopefully since Amtrak does sell, Walthers will go for it since they already have the basic tooling, having done the Metroliners. Seems like the new regime at Walthers is steering away from passenger equipment as of late. I'm glad Rapido and to a lesser degree Bachmann and BLI are picking up the slack producing passenger cars. And I hope Atlas & Athearn decide to do more modern commuter cars. I still can't figure out why they haven't done cab cars yet. I was hoping Walthers might roll out something big for Amtrak's 50th Anniversary, like perhaps, re-releasing EVERY single Walthers Amtrak product that they ever produced, with a few surprises like updated Viewliners, but I know that's highly doubtful. I e-mailed Walthers on 9/15 and I still haven't received an answer. So no news could possibly be no good news at all. I'm holding out hope these might have gotten pushed back till 2021. I also checked their website for their upcoming Mainline Horizon cars, and they got pushed back to 8/2021....BUT...they seemed to have taken notice of some online complaints about releasing these cars with no seated interiors, or interior lighting. The website for the Mainline Horizon cars has been recently updated with more info about the cars: NEW - Revised body with molded drill starter points for grab irons - easily added with Horizon Fleet Car Detail Kit (910-202, sold separately) NEW - Mounting points for Horizon Fleet Car Interior Lighting Kit (910-221, sold separately) NEW - Interior seats NEW - Factory-installed diaphragms NEW - Modeler-installed close-coupling drawbars for larger radius curves NEW - Improved underbody with center sill cross brace details, and hidden mounts for electrical pickups included with Horizon Fleet Lighting Kit (910-221, sold separately) www.walthers.com/85-horizon-fleet-coach-ready-to-run-amtrak-phase-iv-wide-blue-thin-red-white-stripesIf these cars are upgraded and stay at the same price, I might look into buying quite a few of these. Will be interesting to see if they utilize the new tooling of these cars for anything else. Perhaps another run of Walthers Comet Commuter Cars?
