The Rapido newsletter hit the inbox, the BIG news is the RDC-2'and -3 are next up along with the Santa Fe pair. The RDC-2 was Coach/Bag(Combine) and the RDC-3 was a Coach/Bag/RPO. Current order deadline is Feb 09/2018. No Amtrak RDC's on this RUN,NYC,B&M,NH,VIA,LIRR were buyers of the RDC-2 and-3's,and a "hint" of an RDC-4 run in the future. Santa Fe's 2 RDC-1's were first used on the "San Diegian" service untill an accident sent the pair to Santa Fe's Topeka Shop for a rebuild While DC-191 remained a "stock" RDC-1,DC-192 was turned into a RDC-2 with 1/2 of the car converted to baggage use(RDC-1m). The Cabs got some reinforced collision posts added and a gyra-light/marker installed on the door and saw a "War Bonnet" style paint scheme. Believe the DC-191&DC-192 became a "married pair" at that rebuild. Found a home after rebuild on trains 13 and 14,the "El Pasoan" between ABQ and El Paso untill pulled from service.
HARD DEADLINE of Sept 15 2017 for the Rebuilt Amtrak F-40ph and the NPCU(along with the SW-1200 RS switchers) Also N scale UA tubro train order DEADLINE is 09/15/2017 ! N scale 8600 class coaches delayed due to factory congestion,NEW Deadline of OCT 31 2017.

For those who need parts, the 920-11900 lounge for $16 and the 920-13061 RPO for $18 are great. Underbody parts can be recycled to upgrade non-HEP cars to Amtrak standards, trucks are salvageable, and the ends come with proper marker lights and plated finish.
That's how I got my Amtrak Pines sleeper, since Walthers never released 'em.
I still can't get over the folly of a Phase IV RPO.

To those who have been looking for them, Atlas AMT ALP-45DP & the matching Bombardier passenger cars are hitting the stores. I hope they do as well as the NJ Transit sets. According to their website, looks like MBTA is next up to utilize the same tooling of the passenger cars.
Also in hitting the stores is the U36B Auto Train locomotives.
IHP has also announced a limited run of Silverliner IV married pair sets. These are unpowered finished sets. Mike Bartel is only doing 20 sets and has a 10/15/17 pre-order date.

The BLI P70 coaches are nice. I have to admit BLI does put out some nice passenger cars & I hope they decide to do more than Cal. Zephyr cars down the road. The Harriman cars would be nice.
Since Bachmann is doing the SEPTA ACS-64, I wonder if they might be doing anything else for SEPTA beside PCC & trolleys. Maybe they will take a cue from Atlas and start doing commuter passenger cars. The Bachmann China double deck car with MTA on sides doesn't count in my book....lol.
Now I'm glad I kept my Walthers SEPTA Horizon cars. To my knowledge, besides the Atlas SEPTA AEM-7, there hasn't been any other RTR SEPTA locomotive done.

Believe you can use that same mod on the SEPTA Comets, that was done for the early Walters Amfleet cars.

Believe you can use that same mod on the SEPTA Comets, that was done for the early Walters Amfleet cars. The SEPTA cars are fairly close to the NJ Transit cars--which are very close to the Walthers. If you run MBTA you're out of luck. If you want STCUM/AMT, it's quite a bit more work than I'm interested in doing.

Atlas announced not only a run of of MBTA Multi-Level cars this month but another run of the NJ Transit ALP-45 and matching cars. The NJ Transit release will have the "100th ALP Edition", #4534 in this run, as well as new set of "banner" cars. www.atlasrr.com/commuter/NJT2/index.htmwww.atlasrr.com/commuter/MBTA/index.htmBoth versions are due 2nd Quarter of 2018. Too bad SEPTA didn't do an add on purchase for these cars or we might have seen these passenger cars done in HO SEPTA colors also. Still waiting to see if MARC is going to get done.

That there's a 2nd run of the NJT cars is a good sign as is the 2nd run of AL45DP,the MBTA run believed to based in the "K" car series #'s built for MBTA service on both sides of Boston, with that GP40mc "stand in" model.

Bachmann recently did a Facebook video of the ACS-64 on the Trainworld Facebook page. Locomotive looks good but if you watch the video, there is a mention of a possible re-run of Bachmann Amfleets coming down the pike next year. www.facebook.com/TrainWorldLLC/videos/vb.413396772009474/1915321945150275/?type=2&theaterAlso announced, more MTH NYCTA Subway Cars coming. The R21-R22 series in various colors schemes, and the never been done before MOW subway cars. I'm hoping they are all in on doing subway cars like they have done in O Scale and the "B" division cars are eventually coming in HO.
