Finally got a better look at the "youtube" video, the Phase III b stripes are slightly smaller then the main windows of Viewliner II's. Still not sure where the "wave" logo is placed yet!

Guys,When BNSF had a coal train derail at Lupton Az, #3(11) was turned at Gallup NM and sent back to ABQ #42 was the lead, along with #79. This is a shot of the B end of 42,a US flag decal is installed on the door at red stripe level. (Not sure if the flag can be seen ) Attachments:

Got a better Youtube Video view of the View II baggage car lettering, now the "wave" logo is used, and lettered"Amtrak America",about mid car, centered on the white band, figure this is the "offical" phase III(b) paint scheme.

It's a tie for Phase I and III for me.
The new IIIb is a nice scheme and should match up well with P42 #145 & 822 if they keep their colors.
What WILL be interesting to see down the road which scheme will be system wide on Amtrak's 50th Anniversary if the Amfleets are still in service in 2021!

In the current issue of Classic Trains, there's an article about a "phantom paint scheme" for Amtrak's GG-1's,which was never applied. The only 2 I'm aware of was the silver sided "red nose with blue stripe",and "Black Dip" with white lettering. The rendering shown in the article is not easy to describe, and for now, best to read the article.

The Acela sets have a scheme that's best described as a modern art "head scratcher" or "Blobs" As the Acela Express went online, there was an attempt to rebrand the rest of the NEC trains as "Acela Regional" service, thankfully short lived, what few Amfleet cars that were painted for "Acela Regional" were painted to ph IV. Bachmann did for a short time offered Amfleet I's in "Acela Regional" scheme, have 1 of that scheme, can start off"what was that" conversations........ Attachments:

Amtrak has started to redo the Amfleets back to ph III,in a pic taken of the "Autumn Express" special train on PAR(ex-B+M) trackage, shows the "Biz Class"/Cafe behind the 822 in ph III paint. That pic was seen in the thread on http:// railroad.net in the Amtrak Forum

Remember, that car is a cafe and is in Phase III. If we could see the reporting marks that would solve the question.

Figure that ph III b is now offical,P32dm 704 is the 1st known loco to be painted in that scheme.
