I largely missed the boat on the first run of these. I cobbled together a collection of PRR pre-war cars, a combine and two baggage-RPOs and two trailers without pans. So I see the Penn Central and SEPTA cars have just arrived at MB Klein. PC MP 54Is it me or is that green not the PC green that I remember on these cars? This looks more like the NYC Century (jade) green. I remember the MP 54s with more of the olive shade of PC green. Happy modeling, Ed

Looks like they sold out there fast. I wanted the PC and SEPTA versions, but i don't know if I can afford them right now. I would go for the PC first, but I'll take the SEPTA if none others are available.

I'm hoping Con-Cor reruns the PRR Keystone versions. I have some of the pre-war MP54s since that is all that was available. 95% of the photos I see of the MP54s in the '60s and '70s are all powered coaches with an occasional combine thrown in.

Jade Green was used on cabooses, and some work equipment, box cars converted to steam generator cars, used at some overnight layup locations. Coach green,PC style was a bit darker then pullman green(to me).

Some say that Penn-Central developed the paint color (I believe P-C called it "Deep-Sea Green") by dumping a drum of Tuscan red into a drum of "Century" (Jade) green?
In any case, I recall many shades of green in the P-C years but as far as I recall the MP54s were nearly all the Deep Sea green.
Happy railroading... Ed

Well, I asked my LHS to hold a pair of the PC ones for me. If I have any money left over, I'll try for the SEPTA MUs as well.
