Nice pictures everyone! I am uploading mine right now... Cab4, to answer your question, the ACES multilevels were flooded in Sandy and have since been converted to normal NJT cars. All but one have had their seats changed and have been renumbered. I am not sure what they deal is with the other one (it may be 8800?). Did they not run the ACL service into Philly because of NTD? Apparently, they were doing repair work on the Delair Bridge, and/or possibly work on the new Pennsauken station. Ok, that makes sense. I took some shots of the 10004 too and I finally got the time to upload them, so I will give a little 10004 walkthrough for those of us who were not able to see it. When you walk into the 10004 this is what you first see: IMG_2087 by acelaphillies, on Flickr There is a bathroom on the right and some shelves on the left. Moving on, you come to a conference space: IMG_2122 by acelaphillies, on Flickr When you go through the hallway this is what you see: IMG_2112 by acelaphillies, on Flickr If you turn left from this vantage point you will be looking into the kitchen. Here is a view from the opposite direction so that you can see what I am talking about: IMG_2105 by acelaphillies, on Flickr And here is a view looking into the kitchen: IMG_2089 by acelaphillies, on Flickr Here is a deatiled picture of a booth: IMG_2104 by acelaphillies, on Flickr Here is another detail shot. The bar over the doorway is what gives the car support, because obiously the rear window can't handle too much stress. IMG_2115 by acelaphillies, on Flickr Once you go through the doorway you arrive in the "theater" arear: IMG_2092 by acelaphillies, on Flickr IMG_2103 by acelaphillies, on Flickr That is a general overview of the car. You can find more pictures of this car and other NTD stuff here: www.flickr.com/photos/92566859@N07/sets/72157644246829538/

Philly seemed a little smaller than usual this year. The theater car was cool, but very crowded. Anyone know why there wasn't a regular viewliner there? I'm not sure why, but there was no LD stuff at all. In the past there has been Florida service stuff in Philly, but this year there was not. All the Amfleets were Amfleet I's as well. I was hoping on a Viewliner to be there so I could show the wife what we'll be taking down to Florida. Normally there is a lot more private cars there as well.

That's neat that you are taking Amtrak to FL though! When are you going down? I do know the story with the private cars though. Straight from jhdeasy on RR.NET: That is why you saw so few PV cars. It is probably also why the Juniata cars were closed. It was nice for them to bring them, but if they didn't want hundreds of people walking through them they got to make the rules because they were paying.

JT's home shop and yard is about 5 miles RR east of 30th st Station, but having to pay for that switch move kinda stinks,LAUS(LAUPT)is the home for LA Rail.com fleet of cars. Have no idea if they were involved in NTD or LAUS celabrations there. Are the Theatre seats from spare AF-II seat supply? How the rest of 10004 is set up makes sense. having a conference room/kitchenette allows for some "wheeling/dealing" with the Host RR's and the local political "critters", tack a Viewliner sleeper next to 10004 and that will allow a deal to get done with out retreating to a Hotel!

Just had a visit of American View along with Beech Grove,V-I 62049,and 10021 Pacific Cape last weekend, along with Mr Boardman and a few Amtrak PD officers, due to the possible reroute of the Chief, this was at best a PR move with some possible results(for the moment)Was strange to see single level stuff out here other than deadheaded Amfleet/Horizen cars or the rare PV car move.

NEWSFLASH!!!! Amtrak(at present)will not be having "National Train Day" will instead host a series of "Local Train Days" at various locations across the system. Just got the word on a e-mail from my club's president,,just after RioMetro(NMRX)sent out their e-mail to all parties involved here.

OK gents,Check this out,http://www.amtraktraindays.com Seems this is the plan for "Local" train days, still in planning mode for now. If there's a local train day celebration nearby, please support it if you can. Figure on the Amtrak Exibit Train as part of the celebration at these events.
