Rapido just posted a new video showing off their HO FL9 running on Rick Abramson's stunning New Haven layout. The video is done in the usual quirky Rapido style, and shows off the lighting functions and sounds of the model.
I'm not a New Haven modeller (or any other market for the FL9s), but I've got to admit those things look stunning! The sounds are quite impressive too. The transition from diesel to electric modes is really cool!

Love the video and have 2 FL9'S on preorder. I hope that I can get a 3rd unit since I missed the preorder deadline being too indecisive.
What I like most in the video is the EP-5 appearance, and I hope that gets made in the near future. Jason hasn't done an electric locomotive and I have my fingers crossed that the appearance of the EP-5 in the video is a big easter egg of something he is considering producing.

Believe that EP-5(aka the"Jet")was a brass model, the model FL-9 sounds good from what I remember when they worked the Danbury thru trains and running on the Harlem line trains to/from Brewster. The front Handcock air Whistle can get plugged up at times when debris and snow that can throw the tone off a hair.

Excellent vid. Neat seeing Rick Abramson. Rick is a good, down to earth guy, sent me a DVD of his layout 5 years ago. Yes, the EP5 Jet is a brass unit. Hopefully if if the Rapido FL9, and 8600 passenger cars sell, Jason will go for an EP5!
So neat that Jason is tapping the markets that Walthers has been neglecting for years!

Watched the video again. Just makes me very enthusiastic about the upcoming 8600 coaches! Going to be a sweet feeling being able to recreate those trains that I used to see running parallel to I-95 in Connecticut (and across the street from my parents' home) back in the day.

Antonio, nice to see you around. Happy New Year. I agree that is one of the best parts of the hobby! It's hard to believe that soon we will be "recreating history" by running AEM-7s on our layouts!
