Hi all,
It was mentioned in another thread that the Walthers DC Metro cars are getting hard to find. I happen to have moulds for the body and floor for this car I made a few years ago when we were making models for WMATA. If anyone wants them, I'm selling them in 2-car sets (2 bodies, 2 floors w/underbody) at $100 a pair. Contact me privately if interested.

The Rohrs, aka the 1K's,are about to run their last miles on the DC Metro system,to be retired when enough 7K cars are in service, also they are no longer allowed to be leaders, per WMATA,for Safety Reasons.

Mike Bartel Hi Mike, Years ago, and I might be wrong, I think you adapted an old Athearn RDC rubber band drive to a Walthers DC Metro Car. If so, how hard was that modification and any suggestions on using other drives besides using those old drives.

If so, how hard was that modification and any suggestions on using other drives besides using those old drives. I did do that a few years back, with some DC Metro cars and I think I did it with some BART shells as well. It wasn't difficult. I think the biggest thing was to lay the Athearn motor flat so it would fit in the shell. Then, the two mounting tabs on the sides of the RDC frame had to be removed. Other than that, it wasn't a problem. Mike Bartel
