hey,
I've been modeling and posting over at the diesel detailers for a while now and slowfrieght recommended I post here as well so here I am. I model only GO transit and have been trying to detail and paint most of their roster from the 60's-80's. I started out just trying to recreate an accurate F40ph in GO and I just went off from there. Everything I do is in N scale. Currently my diesel roster is:
3 F40Ph, 2 F59PH, 2 GP40-2w, 1 GP40m-2, 2 GP40tc (one green, one blue) 1 FP7 and 1 F7Bunit. Next on my bench will be some Hawker Siddeley Cars and a Cab car but no ETA yet. Here are some images of my current builds:
Sorry for the long post, but in addition to these diesels, I also did a couple odd custom Bi-levels. None of the wrapped cars but some small logos and details I found images of over the years. One is a 30th anniversary car which Athearn made but I added the correct Bombardier logo onto it which I saw in some photos. The other is a slightly more modern car which I'm not sure I should have made because I can't figure out when they did this but the bombardier cars now have "GO transit" written under the center window of the car rather than the older Government of Ontario Transit logo. And finally a car that must have been an add slogan which said "Get on the GO" on it. I have some old GO buttons with this and I liked the slogan so I made the car as well. I collect all manor of GO memorabilia not just model N scale so lmk if you are ever getting rid of GO stuff. Here are the cars, basically just the Athearn stuff with some custom decals:
Well thats it for now. If I get to the Hawker Siddeley coaches and cab car I'll post them. I'll take some more shots of my fleet eventually. Some final notes: all the diesels are DCC with sound. The GP40tc are dummies, no power but I'll fit motors on updated chasis later. I used a lot of miniatures by eric parts, and BLMA detail parts. I had custom decals made and used a mix of custom decals and Highball Graphics GO decals. Some decals are borrowed from other sets for example the numbers on the B unit are HO scale numbers off of a Tropicana Box car set. If you have questions about details or decals let me know and I'll try to help as best I can. Thanks (and if you are wondering about the CN equipment I have them around to do the track cleaning on the layout otherwise it's all GO;)
