According to the Atlas website, the NJ Transit ALP45-DP's and Multi-level coaches shipped out by container on January 10th headed to the U.S. Based on delivery times of other Atlas products, the lag time from container arrival to shipping to dealers is usually in the neighborhood of two months (barring any delays, port strikes, etc.). so we should see these in early March with any luck. I for one am eagerly anticipating their arrival!

At least the container made it on a "slow boat" from China.

Mode changeover adds 1-2 min "dwell time"at a station stop. However, forget to get fuel during the day,you will "crap out" away from the wire due to empty fuel tanks

I just got mine Yesterday, it has been fun playing with it. The "modern" electric sounds are refreshing, though the horn is... interesting. I also am not necessarilly looking forward to installing the grab irons but we will see how it all goes together.

I had just seen earlier they were shipping out to dealers on the Atlas site starting yesterday! Who did you order yours from? Hoping to get mine soon. i ended up with one ALP and a six-car consist.

The cars and locomotive are awesome. I love the sound of modern electric traction. I was also on an Amtrak Northeast Regional and while waiting at BWI I could hear the ACS-64's traction motors as well (Can't wait for Bachmann to release the Sprinter!) By the way, you'll note some work in progress with the platforms. Yes it's a replacement but the scope goes beyond a direct replacement of the platforms (more on that later )

Yer trains ain't long enough! (Dang passenger fans...) I've gotten a knuckle on some of my freights that had those crappy Walthers couplers.

Yep,have seen a few of the "McHenry" clones drop a knuckle/pull a part under load. Had 1 drawbar on a 3-unit well car break during a show, helped along by derailing freight power on a unit grain train. Have never heard the Al-45DP's horn,is 1 of the "bells" of the horn "off key" tone wise?

A full review is coming this week When I post it on here, if someone has a Trainorders account, can you please post my review on there? (you have my permission.) And yes, this will be my usual detailed review. Tom

Just spoke to Factory Direct Trains via phone. They literally just got their orders in within the last hour from Atlas. They'll be putting together customers pre-orders and contacting them starting tomorrow.
