Pooch is still tops on my list, now that I have a huge "Am" fleet. I think with the cab cars I'd spring for both a minimal rebuild with roof hump and a full rebuild. Ironic that after releasing the Metroliner Walthers has failed to produce the other things that could be done with the tooling. Even the straight coaches with blanked ends could be produced.

For better or worse, the Rohr(RTL III)turbos had short lives in active service, all the unrebuilt sets were scrapped ages ago the 3 sets that got rebuilt, after 1 test trip landed in storage at Bear shop while the state and Amtrak battled in court. Not too long ago,2 sets wound up at County MW yard on the NEC for police SWAT/Emergency Services Unit training, the 3rd set landed at Cedar Hill yard in New Haven for the same reason, and to be finally scrapped after the police SWAT/ESU training was done. Said training will have destroyed the interiors. The 2 sets at County will get towed to Cedar Hill for scrapping as well. Amtrak could have used the cars between the power units as regular passenger cars during peak season travel/relief service, as the Rohr built cars have regular couplers.(Note: the French turbos retained the screw link and buffer setup used in Europe, only the power cars had couplers. ouch!) So ends the legacy of the Rohr turbos, as scrap!

Amtrak finally made the move, Siemens got the order for 75 SC-44 Chargers, the LD version with larger fuel tank and Diesel exhaust fluid tank. Will be tier IV compliant, phase V paint scheme(in the renders) larger HEP inverter. Reported delivery is in early 2021, by fall 2021 in service. Still brooding over the P-32 DM replacement at this point of time. Just for giggles, who will be the first model manufacturer to produce the HO or N scale version? Athearn Rapido Bachmann Atlas Kato

Athearn Rapido Bachmann Atlas Kato I'm going to go with Bachmann for HO and Kato for N. However, if more western corridor commuter railroads put orders in for the Charger, I'll go with Athearn in HO.
I won't pick Atlas to do the Charger because I hope they have the inside track to eventually do the NJT ALP-46. And as far as Rapido goes, I want them to do a proper P42/P32ACDM model.
Maybe for Amtrak's 50th Anniversary in 2021, maybe we will see a boatload of Amtrak product on this request list either get re-run or considered.
I suspect we will see another run of HO Plated Amfleets & Superliners before we see any Horizon cars ever again.

IT has been "hinted" that Athearn might be the first at a SC-44 charger, this is via a UK based forum http:// www.rmweb.co.uk However what ever cad renders at Athearn Facebook page seem to be for a Roadswitcher bodyshell! This could be a reuse of the P-40/42 Chassis/weight.

OK the Bus bug is larger,Rapido or Iconic Rep doing an Amtrak Thruway BUS Iconic Replicas has done the Amtrak Thruway bus already. Would love to see someone tool up for Grumman, RTS, Orion, AM General and Gillig Phantom transit buses. I do hope IR does more Flxible buses. The Flxible buses along with the GM Fishbowl buses were my favorites.
Looking at the poll though, it seems at least a 1/3 of the items in the poll are either in the process of being produced or actually being considered for production. Promising days ahead.
