Now you need to put sound in it! LOL I just did a Overland P40 with LED lights and Loksound decoder with dual High Bass 1.10" speakers and it sounds great!

Hey, take it slow! I rushed on my PL42 and ALP46 locomotives, and thats why you never see me post about them anymore! This is absolutely fantastic. I wish I could paint up a model so perfectly!

Thanks for the kind words! I have really been trying to not rush it and to get it right. I have made some mistakes along the way, but was able to fix them by taking my time to do it right. This is actually my first that I ever custom painted loco, and I am really enjoying it. It is neat to watch it all come together. I am getting close to being done though! I'm hoping that in a few days I will be able to get the clear coat on and then put on the underbody. My next project will be my three IMW Bombardier Multilevels. I have begun the initial work on these, but I am going to need some help. Cab4, you have probably worked on more resin commuter kits than anyone that I know of, so I could really use some advice. Hang tight, I will try to get a topic up tonight with some pictures.

Fantastic! one of these days I'll need to do one of these locomotives for myself! I doubt I'll be able to keep it as perfect as this though!

A quick update: I have been applying some Micro-Sol to the decals over the last few days, making sure that the decals settle down nicely and also to avoid silvering when I apply the clear coat. When I have time I will apply the satin finish, then assemble the model. After that I will have some more photos to share.

That's looking phenomenal!
First custom paint job, eh? I'd expect there will be many good things to come from you in the future if this is how your first attempt is looking! It is another reminder though of what patience and careful work can accomplish.

This isn't quite NJT (and not intending to hijack your thread), but I just finished up a P42 myself. The tie-in here is that this is an Athearn dummy that I recently bought off someone (as part of a deal that included an Amtrak Ph.V P42 for my amfleets). A previous owner had started painting it up in NJT colours, so when I got it the unit was painted in silver and black, pretty well ready for NJT decals. But the work was nowhere near what we've seen in this thread, and I didn't need an NJT P42. So after a nice alcohol bath, I painted 'er up as VIA 919. I opted to go for the later blue repaint version (rather than the original teal), and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. This is VIA P42 #3 that I've painted, and I feel like each one gets a little better than the one that came before (maybe I'll have to do a side-by-side comparison thread down on the Canada board). It's simultaneously a simple job (there's only one colour to spray) and a painfully tricky one (the entire side/end graphics are a single decal...not easy to get that to settle nicely in the step wells, around grabs, etc.!).

Great work, the lines and everything are very sharp! So all of the gray is a decal too? Wow, that is a lot of decaling!

You might want to add some weight in that dummy so it can be used in the middle of a consist. If you have a couple of spare axles with metal wheelsets, put in a fuction only decoder so you can light up the Front headlight and the red marker lights, unless you are planning to tie that dummy to 1 of your other units permantly.
