This may be the best place for Reference materials and resource websites on passenger trains and operations. Everybody feel free to add to this-PLEASE!!! To start this off, hoseeker.net as a resource on exploded view parts sheets for most of the models discussed on this site. There's a "N" scale niche as well at the site.

As DCC is becoming the norm, most of major decoder manufacturers have websites with pdf files of their decoder programming, and decoder manuals, with 1 known exception-MDC decoders. Digitrax has a legacy section for discontinued decoders, and other items. It is a good idea to download what you need from their sites to help manage your fleet.

For people that will retain old computers(Win XP + Vista) just to run JMRI,the 3.8 production version will be the highest you can download 32 bit version good with java 1.6 or 1.7 versions from the Source Forge site. Oracle controls the java langauge now, version 1.8 is 64 bit based,as are JMRI versions 3.10 to current 4.8.

There's been word that Amtrak will no longer publish the National(System)Timetable, the last was 01/11/16. The online National version will still be avaible, Amtrak seems to following VIA Rail, all of VIA schedules are only online,no paper.
