Hi guys, at the time when Amtrak unveiled there Heritage units, i had several undec Athearn P42´s from a sale, so the decision was made very fast to paint one after another. I don´t know which one was first, i made the Phase 1, 2 and 3 units. Since Microscale had no matching decals available at that time, i had to customize other Amtrak sets, which was some work, especially for the nose sections of the phase 2 and 3 units. However, i got it and i quickly got questions as i am willing to sell them, so i did...

Nicely done! All you need now is a phaseIV unit and AMTK #42,Amtrak's tribute to the US Miltary.

Regreatably 145 has had a run-in with livestock,was last running on the CZ till the Inspection train to ABQ from Topeka Ks,damage was on the nose on the engneer's side. Attachments:

AS noted in the P42 thread,Athearn is (re?)running the HERITAGE units with an upgraded mold showing the "bolt on nose" mod with the exception of #42,the military unit,possibily due to DOD licensing issues.

There have been reports of ACS-64 #642 has made a "pit stop" at Beech Grove for painting into an "Veteran's unit" along the lines of what was done on P-42 #42. Only time will tell.....
