I have a set of these I'm working on. I didn't really take any pictures of the unbuilt kits, but I'm in the process of Alclading them. The original purchaser (as well as many other people I now) planned on making these into the comet IB "Comarrow" cars, but these will be the MU versions.
I'm currently trying to find the operators manuals to these cars, and a list of cars modified to be in the "500" series. Originally they were built in the 100 series, but some were rebuilt near the Conrail era to be compatible with the Arrow II and Arrow III cars.
I have confirmed via photograph 507, 510, and 525, but there must have been more since they are in larger than three car trains. unfortunately, literally these three same cars seem to be on the head end of every photo of a 500 series car.
A fairly reliable source gave me an awesome table showing 19 cars rebuilt, but I wish I could find the railroad documents to verify this. Even in the Employee Timetables, these cars are not listed in a separate number series even though they exist, and there are no mentions of rules of which cars are compatible.
The table suggested that the following cars were in the 500 series- 501, 502, 503, 504, 507, 508, 509, 510, 516, 517, 519, 520, 521, 522, 523, 525, 528, 529, and 530.
507 was formerly #134, but the other cars had the same final digits in the 100 series.
This is why the first Arrow II is number 534.
Hopefully, I'll post pictures here as they progress.
