My name is Jeff and I'm from Toronto. Actually I'm from Mississauga which is the city to the left of Toronto but when I tell people I'm from Canada they generally assume I'm from Toronto. I just stumbled across this forum as I was surfing the net which is rather advantageous as I'm looking to get into some passenger modeling in the form of VIA Rail and Amtrak. Thanks to Rapido Trains there are a lot of quality RTR and accurate equipment for Canadian modelers. I'm just starting to grow my collection and although I don't have a layout of my own I do have access to layouts to run my equipment when the time comes. I have very little, if any, information to impart but I am ready to learn from others. Thanks for having me and here's to our mutual interest in all things passenger and commuter rail both in prototype and modeling. Best regards to all, Jeff

Jeff,Welcome,Mississauga,as I remember from my travels thru Canada is a little bit west and south
of Toronto City Center.
We have some info in the Canada forum about Via Rail,and of course the Amtrak Forum.

Welcome to the board Jeff! Good to have some more Canadian representation here :-)
I'm more than happy to help out when it comes to VIA Rail modelling, as that's my #1 interest. You'll see quite a few of my things over on the Canada sub-board of this forum, and I'm always happy to join in on any discussions over there. I can also assure you that there are some top-notch folks on the Amtrak section, so you should find plenty of help there!
I'm not from Toronto either, though still originally from Ontario (near Brockville on the CN Kingston Sub...a little farther to the "right" :-P), and now all the way out east in Halifax. So my interest in VIA Rail ops is in the eastern part of the country, basically anything in the Corridor and East.
