While working on 1 of the "step-down"(Walters)coaches used on my "what-if""El-Pasoan",figured that I need to add a small version of the current logo(refered to as "wave" or "3 sheets")like Walters has done with ph IV b Superliners, along with the ADA decal to these cars. Microscale has done Amtrak decals in the past, but have not done the current logo. Any ideas?(from known legit sources pls!)

Those decals are definitely a missing piece for Amtrak modelers. The only Phase V set that Microscale makes is the sheet for the Genesis locos. They have some white and blue Amtrak logos, but so think they may be the wrong size for passenger car sides. Other than that, custom printing is an option.
I even put in a suggestion at Microscale for a Phase IVb amfleet set and they never responded to me.

That set is waay too big, need a better graphic to create that logo in white as done on ph IV b Superliners. The size is about 2/3rd of the size logo used on station signs(Blue on silver{plat mist?})

I think Walthers has a deal with Amtrak on Phase IVb, pretty sure Microscale had some Phase IVb as well as the heritage schemes but had to pull them when Walthers came out with their stuff

I wanted to learn a little more, so I did a quick Google search and came up with this: www.walthers.com/exec/page/press/2001/amtrakdealIt's dated all the way back to 2001. I wonder if/when this deal expires. For a while, Athearn only ran phase V P42s through Walthers. That has since stopped. I wonder if that is a signal of the expiration of the contract between Walthers and Amtrak?

It would not be a suprise if the Amtrak/Walters agreement(aka License)was renewed/extended. Both have done well in the past, and now new models are arriving on the shelves. It is possible that Athearn/Walters/Amtrak have a seperate deal on the "AMD-103"(P-40/42) models. Went over to Microscale's site,They do have a"Pacific Parlor" Decal(in N and HO) set that should work on the Walters model. Believe what is needed an Accessory Decal set covering the "Biz" cars and some of the lettering used on the ph IV and ph IVb schemes

Amtrak models have proven more than once over the past few years that lobbying does work! The email is: railroad@microscale.com I've just sent them an e-mail myself, suggesting a Ph. IVb passenger car set would fill a gaping hole in the current line of available decals. I don't necessarily need them myself (I say now...), but I'm always happy to see more of the modern passenger scene covered!
