Hi all. For years I have been running my Acela set the way that it came from the set: two locomotives, one business class, one cafe, and one first class. Recently I have been considering upgrading it to the full 6 cars. I know Bachmann made seperate sale Acela cars, so so figured this would be easy enough...
Once I started looking in to it, I realized that Bachmann seems to have made every car but one business class for a prototypical set. Specifically, I have the beginnings of trainset 11 (the one with power cars 2017 & 2036). Because the Acela sets are semi-permanently coupled in real life, they always have the same cars together. I can find every car but business class 3531, and it looks like it was never produced. Is my only option for a 6 car set to have one car be an unprototypical road number ? Seems like something Bachmann would do. Thanks.

Not sure when Bachmann stopped selling the Acela sets and the extra cars, but there was coach and Biz class cars avaible seperately, and a pair of Acela power cars in the engine section of the HO part of the "master Catalog" that Bachmann sells, the extra coach could be used as the "HSR Track Geo car" that gets spliced into 1 of the Acela sets, creating a 7 car Acela set. Am not aware of any Acela Decal sets,to renumber that Biz car....

You might want to look into Microscale decals for Union Pacific letters and numbers. I believe they are the closest from my experience.
