Here's another quick shot of the then under construction area. The northbound Silver Meteor is about to cross over the diamond at TN Tower (Tampa Northern). The Amtrak train is on the exACL at this point headed east (railroad north). In the prototype realm trains coming from St. Petersburg and Clearwater crossed the other leg (exSAL) of the diamond here. Selective compression meant I couldn't model the typical back in movements to Tampa Union Station. Attachments:

Hi RT,
I certainly have a lot of fond memories (and some prototype photos) of TN tower. Cool how you're capturing the double track "A-Line" crossing over the former Seaboard's line. I remember how loud the wheels on the classic heritage cars sounded when they hit the diamond back in the 70s-early 80s. Sounded like shotguns going off!
Was a saddening sight when the A-Line portion in Tampa was single tracked in the mid-80s.
Looking forward to seeing your layout finished :-)

I am also working on a Silver Meteor from the 90's and I went roughly by a Pentrex video to assemble the cars which were a mix of Amfleet 2 and heritage cars, I plan to do a 16 car train and have to figure out how to get 1 Bachmann E60 to pull it, lol.

The Florida trains tended to get 2 E-60's or 2 AEM-7's,out of Sunnyside. Don't think a "meatball" and the "brick"(E-60) could mu together

Thats good to know as I might be able to weigh 1 of them enough to pull 1 train but 2 would be easier. I know in the video it was 1 unit.

I took a ride to New York City on the Silver Meteor in 1983. We were 15 cars long, double headed with F40s. I was amazed when we arrived in Washington DC, and saw that after our F40PHs were removed ONLY ONE E60 was coupled on. That was muscle! We had no problem maintaining speed. Thats good to know as I might be able to weigh 1 of them enough to pull 1 train but 2 would be easier. I know in the video it was 1 unit.
