There is an report that Amtrak-California's operators are going to lease the never used Wi Talgo sets for service in Ca. Built in Milwaukee Wi to that state's specs, the sets were rejected by gov Walker, stored at Milwaukee Factory untill moved to Beech Grove for safe storage, there were reports that the sets were to be leased by MiDOT for that states services. Since the failed crush test at Nippon's factory in Rochelle Il.,the 2nd gen Surfliners ordered by Ca are delayed untill a new car design passes the FRA mandated Crush test.
This is an european design that might be in HO/OO in europe (Spanish?)
Should be fun where the sets are in service!

Huh. That's a better fate than the Turboliner cars that sat half-rebuilt in NY until they were sold for scrap about 3 years ago.
I guess if the equipment is still viable it'll find a home eventually.
So now that Caltrain is buying KISS cars for the Bay Area, how likely is their bilevel fleet to end up in Chicago? The cars are ca. 1985, so much newer than the other used stuff Chicago is buying?

As far as sourcing models, there's some "Cascade"based models at the "Shapeways"3D printing site. Via Hornby International,in the "Electrotren" section, there're 3 6 car sets of talgo equipment, mostly in RENFE paint schemes. The best match to the American Cascade set seem to be the"Pendular" 6 car set,and there're "add on cars" avaible. Also the"Talgo III" 6 car set and the "Elipsos" a talgo sleeper 6 car set, with "add on" cars for both set avaible. No MSRP at the catalog site, might be in British pounds or euros. www.hornbyinternational.com/en/69-electrotren

After the wreck of Cascade service train 501 near Ft Lewis Wa,Amtrak has leased and will send both sets to the pacific northwest. 1 set is making a test run with a solo ILDOT owned Charger at the test center at Pueblo Co before heading to Denver on the Joint line, then west to Seattle(might stop at Emeryville Ca) The other set at Beech Grove will be on the move shortly.
In other news,Nippon-Sharyo had a major FAILURE with the Crush test with the prototype Bi-Level bodyshell, Seimens Brightline based single level will be built instead ,based on the Amtrak single level specs, for CalTrans and the Midwest services out of Chicago.
