I've recently purchased several HO F&C P72's and I'm looking for trucks that are fairly accurate. I don't have much confidence in the resin trucks that are included. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The trucks used on the actual car were called 41-BMP (CIB) trucks. They are based on the ever popular 41-N truck, found under most streamlined passenger cars, and thankfully, nearly every Walthers passenger cars as well. The only noticeable difference, is the type, location and mounting of the bolster springs.
A good stand in (and I hate stand ins), unless you can find sets of the old correct Coach Yard trucks, is the Walthers 41-N truck. Other manufacturers also make the same (or similar) truck.....but IMHO, the Walthers trucks are the best. You could leave them as is, or modify them with the correct springs (not an easy task).

The trucks themselves aren't always easy to find.
What I like to do is see what passenger cars Walther's has on sale for deep discount prices......and buy the ENTIRE car.......why the ENTIRE car you ask........because at $20 to $25 not only do you get the trucks you need, you also get a %&*% load of extra parts, and a decent underframe, couplers, draft gear, and interior to cannibalize for parts!!!!
If you go to the Walthers site, or have a sale flyer handy....this month they are blowing out a lot of cars at steep discounts. I just picked up ten Union Pacific 44 seat coaches to make my Metro North 4800 series train for $27.98 each, instead of the normal $74.98 each. They have some HO cars for as low as $15.98. eBay is also another option, but that is always hit or miss and no guarantee your gonna get it anyways.

For the P72 I did (IMW kit) I had used Walthers HO Scale GSC 41 trucks. I don't remember the exact part number though...

Are you painting the car as a Parlor(red band)? or as a coach(blue band)? "High Tide"= Blue band at window level "Low Tide"= Blue band below the windows Red Tide"= Red band below the windows (Parlor cars)
