Here is an interesting project that I found on YouTube. It's not mine, but I thought I would share. This is something that I have always thought about. Has anyone found a good way to remove Bachmann lettering without damaging the paint underneath?

There will always be a chance that the paint will get damaged while removing pad printed lettering. Found that out when removing the phase I striping on the Bachman Metroliners

Yeah that's the problem . Would you guys be interested in launching an email campaign to Bachmann to update their Acela and HHP-8 lettering? The Acela products are some of their best products out there. They could easily update the decals to reflect wht Amtrak has done with their trainsets. They have produced multiple roadnumbers of this set. I don't see how changing the Amtrak logo would be much harder than this. For example, the HHP-8 locos have not had the Acela logo on their side for over 5 years. All that Bachmann would need to do to correct this is remove this step in the printing process. Maybe we could even convince them to run a 10003 on an end business car.

Bachman might need a license change and OK from Amtrak, the current model is sold on the exhibit train "store"
Remember the UP+CSX foul ups on logos + trademarks???

Yes, I'm sure Bachmann would need Amtrak's consent before they changed anythig. I don't see why Amtrak would have a problem with it though since Bachmann already had the rights to make the Acela set. I think I will email Bachmann, see what they say. I'll let you guys know when I hear a response. Btw, what happened with the CSX and UP products?

Both CSX and UP control the use of their "Markings, paint, and Logo's" and require a "license" FEE($$$) and Contract to use their "Trademarks" on models including Hertiage RR's merged into UP or CSX. CSX donates their "FEES" to the B+O Museum in Balt. Md, after catching grief from the modeling community. UP was just "grabbing" $$$ for their own "greed".

I made this up and will send it to Bachmann. (It is attached as a PDF. I could only attach a low-quality version or it would be too big). Attachments:
