Have a AHM/Rivarossi Stilwell coach that was on 6 wheel trucks,to me didn't seem right as most coaches are on 4 wheel trucks, while running at the setup today,1 of couplers was pulled off the car,the glue used had failed, went to pull off the truck to,the pin holding the truck broke,it was time to go the "bolt/nut" route, figured it's time to "retruck" the car as well, used a spare pair of MDC pullman trucks on hand. Had to repair that coupler mount first, then ream the the MDC Trucks to allow a 2/56 bolt to pass thru without binding. May wind up replacing the coach steps to boot Attachments:

The steps on that Stillwell coach got a little more damage from a derailment,to a point that 2 stepwells on the same side just looked real bad and needed to go. As done by Rivarossi, the steps are shallow relief type details, with thin edging that can't stand much banging around. This car doesn't have any interior fittings(yet),so I have a little leeway in fitting the replacement steps. For now, there are 2 "starter" holes in the floor/underframe,to remove all trace of the original molded on stepwells For anybody that still has the original 6 wheel trucks installed, watch for clearance issues as you go. Started a bit of a "Resto-Mod" project using a Tyco "old timer" combine as the base, planning to replace the clearstory roof with a curvred roof used on a "old timer(1880' vintage) car done by AHM ages ago that cleaned up and repainted to a oxide red color. Did a full teardown and removed the truck mounted couplers and with 91% alcohol cleaned off decades of dirt and bad pad printed lettering for ATSF with a red stripe. Wound up with a clean white bodyshell,a fair condition underframe, and a puke green clearstory roof(warped however )
