;)Guys, with Chuggington,Thomas, and "Harry Potter" using trains as part of the story,at most shows with multiple moduler groups setup and running, there will be a "O" gauge group running a Thomas to draw the kids over, in small doses, it fine. Most Tourist lines do "A day out with Thomas" as a money maker, popping up a thomas model at a show for a couple of laps can help break out the smiles (and the wisecracks as well ) This was done at a State Fair Show recently, got a lot of little kids happy and smiles from gratefull/tired parents as well other than the "Milk" tank along for extra water, the cars are MDC/Roundhouse "old timers" short cars, the british cars used on the TV show are not "FRA compliant". The only other thing done other than Kadees installed was adding a bell on the front buffer beam"for the FRA" Attachments:

John Allen of Gorre and Daphied fame used more hidden form of humor, the "Work" dinosaurs for example.

When I went to visit the Amtrak 40th train back in 2011, I went to visit it at the Strasburg Railroad. It was a "Day at with Thomas". It was a total mob scene!!! The place was jam packed with people everytwhere. I remember in one picture I had the Amtrak train, the Strasburg excursion train, and then there was Thomas.
I guess if it provides the museums with some money, more power to them.

One quick way to stir up chuckles on a club layout is to run classic "tongue and cheek" cars, like the ones that were available back in the 70s/80s. Walthers Piker and Oscar (observation short car) are instant attention getters.
The one that made me crack up instantly when I saw it for the first time was the "JAIL BOX" car! That was too funny and is still my favorite tongue and cheek car. Personally I think that with the overcrowding conditions today, prototypes should be produced!

During our last show season, one of our trains was starting to slip going up a grade. The guy running the train behind it was operating the "Thomas" train, and he caught up and pushed that much larger train up the grade!
That got a laugh out of most of the people there. Useful engine indeed!

Yea,that happens from time to time, when guys lose cars due to coupler issues, the front hook doesn't hang up with the couplers, not bad for a 0-6-0T with no added weight!

The Digitrax DZ-126(was DZ-123)is the decoder to use in the HO Bachmann Thomas, untill the 3 pole motor, breaks in, pop the cab roof(behind the scenes, if possible)off to allow the decoder to cool.

Now,How to get Athearn to do a "Fantasy" NYC cigar band P-32dm....... Well, they already have a car that would be perfect behind an NYC P-32! Don't forget, this car is part of the Walthers PROTO series: (quote from Walthers!) Superb realism meets railroad-ready. With engines, passenger equipment and freight cars, WalthersProto builds on the tradition of excellence established by the Proto 2000 Series, Walthers Platinum Line and Walthers passenger cars. Working directly with railroad historical societies, museums and modeling authorities to obtain the most accurate data possible, each WalthersProto model is superbly detailed to match its prototype. Locomotives are available with Tsunami® Sound and DCC decoders for added realism and operation. With these and many other features, WalthersProto will please the most demanding modeler or collector.Um... OK Ed

Didn't Con-Cor and AHM make the same "oops" mistake, unless the dome could be retracted into the carbody to allow it into GCT.
