In this thread feel free to post as many pictures as you would like from your Northeast region commuter models. They don't have to fit into any project or subject matter, this thread is simply for the fun of sharing pictures.

Cab4, you have quite the collection! Lots of SEPTA push-pull cars!

The SEPTA push-pulls are a love hate relationship. Only about 9 of them are in decent shape. the rest I got cheap, but the paint was heavily scraped. I would love to get my hands on the old IHP SEPTA decal sets, since the other cars just need a cosmetic restoration. With both SEPTA AEM7s, though I can operate some minor push-pull service on my club's "Reading" line.
My SEPTA push-pulls have been highly reliable. Only once have they failed me, and I think it was the track, not my cars (considering it was a modular set up, people don't like to believe their tracks don't work).
I wish I could trade the excess for NJ Transit cars, but I'm probably better off holding onto these.
I still need to assemble my NJ commuter stuff. Its both more impressive and less, since I have much more equipment, but much less of it is presentably complete. I have a ginormous fleet of Arrows that I'm pretty proud of, but I'll be much more proud of them when they are all built and operating.

Cab4,It's normally the "joiner tracks" between modules that create the glitches, you might check the wheelsets are in gauge, and check for a "bad joint" when you "go on the ground". A high or low rail joint will pick at wheelsets.

Our modules don't even have joiner tracks. the tracks go right to the end of the module. The rails are tapered a little, so that most of the wheels catch. That said, I'm thinking some of the more excessively tapered joints were bouncing the wheelsets up.
It doesn't help that my wheels are intentionally "loose", since those inside bearing trucks created a lot of drag. They assumes my wheels were just falling out of the trucks (which never happens anywhere else), but whatever.

OK,that's different. All that's needed is a small "nip" at the rail ends to make a transistion between modules, a round wheel hitting a square rail end is prone to derail. At the club I'm with(ASHOME) we run a combo of code 100(old standard) and code 83(new standard)on the mainlines, and use code 83 joiner tracks between code 83 modules and code 100 modules, some of the older club owned modules, are getting rebuilt with new track(code 83)and refreshed or new scenery as needed. A little "nip" at the ends of the code 100 rails has helped.

An old picture from 2010, but not a bad one. My NJT fleet has expanded a little, I have an extra ALP44 and ALP46, though they both need work (as does the ALP46 in the photo, which now has a drive). These are just the electric locomotives. I have several diesels, as well, but I haven't been able to do another "group shot".

Nice group photo! Reminds me of the photo that Amtrak took with its heritage P42's.

They are, but with Island Model Works Decals!
Technically, these are RTR, and I might need to rework the vent areas (the previous owner I assumed put on a very thick amount of paint on the sides of the vents), but otherwise it looks good.
There was also a minor chip in one unit, but I was able to use Tamiya two-part filler puddy to fill it in, and my finger nail to return the "fluting" to its proper contour!
