That makes it a bit easier to do,changing the "A" end to the window, remove almost all of the door/diaphragm mount. Thats what next for that Viewliner I need parts for!

Bachmann made a long time ago,a model of a self propelled track geo car, based on LIRR's TC-80, which might show up on "Evil-Bay" or at a local swap meet from time to time, was marketed as a "track cleaner" car by Bachmann. Used a pancake motor to power it. The Amtrak version was painted white body, with red+blue stripes. Believe Amtrak's version was MW orange bought in around the time of the NEC improvement project started up after Amtrak's takeover of the NEC

Thanks! I am not sure if it can be used in push-pull, but I am sure that it can't be used as a cab car. I did notice the camera as well. Good catch! AMTK 10031 is a former GN Great Dome that wanders the entire system year round, except for the NEC. It's set up as a Lounge Car with the Bar on the lower level, gets heavy use in the east during the Fall season,to get it to the Downeaster,it is deadheaded on train#'s 449/448,the Boston section of the Lake Shore Ltd. Here's a pic of 10031(the model) on a combined #48 with the boston section tacked on the back of the NY sleepers. Attachments:

Finally got started on a model of 10004,this Viewliner I is an abused Walters model, all the coupler box/ mount parts was removed, part of the floor was damaged, the "A" car end was glued to the body shell in place. Was able to pop out most of the "tinted Glass",a few are glued at the A end and at the "body plug" mid car, thankfully still have all the "B" end detail parts(step well covers). In this pic, have cut the door away and placed marks at the top and bottom of the window frame. May wind up moving the weight "blobs" when I start on the theater interior. Attachments:

Looks like a good start BSH! Keep us posted! P.S. I have noticed that a lot of your pictures seem to have an orange tint to them, which is a shame that it takes away from the overall picture. If you don't mind, could you share what the camera make/model is? Maybe I could help you out somehow. Also, do you normally shoot on auto mode? And finally, do they look orange on the camera LCD screen, or just after you upload them to the computer. Sometimes it can be hard to communicate tone over the computer, so please don't mistake this for criticism. I am hoping that I can help you out somehow.

When in Macro mode,Flash is disabled,so everything is exisiting light, possible color shift due to light source, the CFL bulbs used at home, and the Hg vapor lights at Wheels, every thing in full auto camera is a simple point/shoot type. As an old time slide shooter, has the same glitch when shooting Kodachrome(25 and 64)
(Check for a pm in a few days)

This is just a quick+dirty pic of the A end,was able to save the top of the end,but the rest was full of cracks, unsalvageable. Will create the rest of end with plastic sheetstock. Had to install 2 layers to level the floor, still need to create a level pad for the coupler, and what to do with the body shell supports at the 2nd row of seats location. Attachments:

As far as supports go, I would just follow the prototype's lead. Make a thick support wall out of styrene, then cut out a doorway.

I'm guessing the theater part ranges back 4-6 windows back from the A end(roughly 1/3 of the car). Since this run used "tinted glass",the "back wall" becomes the view block. The question becomes;how many rows of seats in the theater section?? That AC tonnage needed for the theater section will save it becoming the "Greenhouse" in the sun. The orignal plan was to nibble and file the window opening on the orignal end
