It was, to a point,P-42 48 was Dead in tow, they attempted to restart it for the HEP,that inverter went south, so 168 was used to get the HEP back up,strange to see a Viewliner-I sleeper this far west, was able to settle where the bulkhead goes(3 windows from the end. Was never quite sure about the Cam box on 10001 till today as well. For anybody attempting to model the 10001,while the shell was Amfleet I,the B end doors were blanked out, use an Amfleet II shell for a starting point. Also, part of the door posts and diaphram were retained, and the "Drumhead" box is square, the graphic is some what weatherbeaten/faded.

Have been working on too many projects at the same time, when time permits. For the 10004 American View, finally installed the Bulkhead between the obs seating and the rest of the car, then painted the trucks flat black. Will reinstall the dark tinted "glass" from the bulkhead to the "A" end of the car, then work on the obs end interior. Noticed on the pics I have all 4 bolster anchor rod mounts were replaced, and a "Patch" piece was painted black on the sill.

Now I know why we don't have retooled Viewliners, Walthers will wait until you pour blood and sweat into this fantastic kitbash...then announce it Seriously though, so far so good, can't wait to see the finished result! Tom

This Viewliner model was "rearanged" by someone that had 18" radius curve, used a"hot" glue gun to put the "glass",had carved off the bolster anchor mounts(still have the remains ) and destroyed the orignal coupler mounts, was lucky to clean up the body shell, trucks and underframe. Still trying to build the glass frame for the obs end, have a strip stock floor,to build the obs end interior on. Will start on that in a bit,as time permits. FYI: The fork lift mounted window washer died in 2010,may have scrapped, the "shed" it hid in between trains now houses the ADA lift.

About to start on the "theater" end interior, will be using stripwood to create the tiers, 2 seats at floor level, then 3 tiers of 4 seats, center ailse(at least)still checking photos before building the tiers. Using strip plastic as the floor(base) to buid on,then sliding it in to the car to check fit during the build. The glass wall end will be done last.

Well, sometimes what you think is going to work, doesn't quite pull it off. When building up the floor for the theater section, wound up a bit too high, the HO sized crew would have to crawl in,oops....
