Found a way to order that car end,the original(broken)end was part of how the shell was attached to the frame, so that bulkhead in the back of the theater seating is a MUST for supporting the bodyshell. Did need to level the OBS end with sheet stock to create a level floor. Will remove the remaining piece of the original end when the part arrives about 10 days from now.

Used some ACC "debonder" on the remaining piece of car end, removed it(in pieces)and cleaned up what I could of the "channel" that the car end was mounted to. Pics to follow.....

Was at a swap meet today, found a "undec" Viewliner I model at a fair price and intact parts wise , will start to finish off this stalled project, will swap the complete underframe/car floor to the body shell that's been already modded, have been filing the shapeways part to fit. The coupler mounts are complete,so this car will run better than the "fixed" mounts on the old underframe. will post some pics shortly.

It's been a while, but finally got to this point, swapped the bodyshell to the new underframe/floor and built up the floor in the theater section, replaced the original trucks with replacement Super II metal trucks, the 2/56 hardware is holding the coupler mount together, trimming them soon. Had to file the Shapeways part to fit, still "dry" fitting untill I put in the seating. Any Clear "glass" will the last items installed. I am pleased how the Shapeways end turned out, when filing/sanding,there will be a fine white powder created.

The other end of "American View" is getting replaced with the end from the "undec" kit, due to the "damage" that original end has. The "new" end was disassembled for painting

AMTK 10031 took a hit from a low tree branch while on Downeaster route, not sure if it's Dome Glass or a window, unless Albany Shop can repair it on the cheap, the move on #449 after pickup at Worcester Ma may turn into the direct move to storage at Beech Grove for the Great Dome. The "given is that any repairs will be VETO'ed at the corporate level. Ocean View was to be on trains # 68/69 for October. An update: Ocean View has been repaired to allow the last hurah runs on the Adirondack Albany-Montreal, After that ends a last run on #49 to Chicago, then Beech Grove for storage.

AMTK 10031 is headed to a scrapper, should be in Chicago off of the Lake Shore Ltd,unknown if it will be done at Beech Grove or somewhere in Chicago. It would have been nice to see it handed over to a museum instead.
