Greetings all!
For my upcoming Amfleet project, I plan to do the following:
* Applying appropriate decals (car #'s, etc.)
Weathering the underbody, as well as detailing the air conditioning units with appropriate paint (red knobs, etc), lettering "AMF", etc.

* Further warning labels on the underbody
* Light coat (and I do mean light) of dust and dirt on the roofs
* Wheelsets painted appropriate rust-dirt brown color as well as lubed.
* Drop steps will be a little more banged up they see lots of usage, may do some very small dents and dings on a car or two
* Roof vents weathered
* Car ends: the most detailed.... installation of curved grab iron on end door, diaphragms given a coating of dull black, followed by silver outline, grab irons installed next to the door. All end detail properly replicated (HEP, etc.) as well as dulling down that god awful end car shine (if you ever seen the end of an Amfleet, you know what I am talking about!) Ends will be dulled down and given the dirty dusty look that they deserve! Marker lights will also be installed (that may come later) The emergency exit placards at the car ends have been already done up online and will be printed out on decal paper when they arrive.

* Interior detail: Phase IVb equipment will feature the blue interiors, food service ends will be done appropriately. the old Lounge car seats will be removed and tables will be installed as the other side has (esp for Amfleet II Café cars), A-I café cars will feature business class seating at the one end. Phase III Lounge/Coach will have the appropriate "Red seat" interior.
* I have struggled with the window masking idea, after taking these cars fully apart, I now plan to mask the windows individually with painters tape (time consuming...yes.) The windows, along with the window gasket detail are some of the best, if not the best, I have ever seen on a model.
* Plating: Okay, yes it is shiny, not as chrome as some people have made them out to be, but then again, not dull either. A seal of Alclad ALC-600 AQUA GLOSS will tone the sheen down to a more realistic level (special thanks for FP45Tony for this.)
Some extra little goodies and surprises are also planned... you're just gonna have to wait and find out.
I will give a hint: Anyone remember the little "HIALEAH, FLA lettering with the dolphin done in turquoise at the end of the A-II car down by the lower grabiron at B-end (the end with no door)?
Watch this thread for updates and pictures....
On another note, I do have some Heritage ideas in the works
Ex-UP smoothside 44 seat coaches in Phase III and HEP
Plated 10-6's
Plated 24-8 Slumbercoach
Budd Coaches in Phase III
Former US Army Baggage Dorms
Plated Hi-level Coach-Dorm Phase III
But those are a while away......nothing formally planned yet.
